I have never been interested in asking musicians the same five questions they have already answered everywhere else.
The Musician’s Corner is about what happens when the rehearsed answer runs out—when artists start talking about where the songs came from, what the work has cost them, what keeps them creating, and the stories that never make it into a press release.
The series began in Northwest Arkansas, inside a music community I have spent years documenting, supporting, studying, and occasionally arguing with. That history matters. It is the foundation, not the boundary.
Guests in The Musician’s Corner
So far, I have welcomed Jen Cole, Randall Shreve, The Big Sad, Korey McKelvey, March to August, Rochelle Bradshaw, and Count Your Cards, and more into The Musician’s Corner.
Some conversations are funny. Some wander. Some uncover pieces of local music history while we are sitting there. That is the point. This is not publicity disguised as conversation. It is a place for musicians to be people—and for their stories to exist somewhere beyond the stage.
The corner is getting bigger.
